We have an outstanding opportunity for aDirector, Human Resourcesto join our CTB team. This position is based in Monterey, California.

You will direct all human resource activities for the CTB division of McGraw-Hill Education (MHE). Your responsibilities will be to provide advice and counsel to segment executives regarding complex human resource issues. You will work closely with the VP Human Resources, MHE and the senior management team to ensure that human resource initiatives support the segment's business strategy and attainment of business goals.

Responsibilities Include:
* Strategic partnership with Executive Team to provide awareness of business changes/trends and the effect they will have on current/future skill requirements and people development
* Build and develop team of HR Business Partners to effectively partner with internal clients aligning business needs with Corporate goals
* Oversee and drive the CTBU programs that personalize and support the needs of assigned business groups
* Create and implement Employee Engagement surveys for active engagement of CTB employees to understand and address needs
* Partners with Talent Acquisition to develop staffing strategy/plans in conjunction with President/SR Mgmt team
* Accountable for managing the employee life cycle
* Maintain HR metrics and reports that measure the effectiveness of HR programs and services

* 15 years demonstrated HR management experience-large complex employers
* Bachelors Degree in HR Management, OD, or business-related discipline. Advanced degree strongly preferred
* Expert knowledge in performance management and succession planning processes
* Strong ability to communicate with and influence senior management on issues of organizational development and talent management
* Strong business acumen and ability to translate business strategy to development plans
* Strong project management skills and the ability to execute large-scale initiatives in a complex, matrix environment
* Strategic, creative and innovative thinking skills, along with high intellect and sound judgment
