Structure Finance is one of several financial sectors for which Standard & Poor's provides its credit ratings services. Slightly different, and more complex than the ratings it provides for other sectors, analysts who specialize in rating structured financial instruments closely evaluate, among other things, the potential risks posed by the instrument's legal structure and the credit quality of the assets held by the Special Purpose Entity (SPE). Standard & Poor's analysts also consider the anticipated cash flow of the underlying assets and any credit enhancements that could provide protection against default.
S&P Structured Finance has rated over 12,000 transactions that are credit-enhanced with the full support of a letter of credit (LOC). The ratings on these financings are based on an agreement by a bank or other financial institution to provide for the full and timely payment of debt in the event that the issuer or underlying obligor does not pay. The business is seeking an Associate.
The Associate will participate in the complete ratings process including interacting on analytical matters with bankers, issuers and analysts. Associate will analyze pertinent information and data necessary for rating determination on transactions. They will make recommendations to the rating committee and prepare material for ratings publications. An Associate will be part of a team that meets with issuers and investors and will assist in resolving clients' needs and assess client's quarterly financial projections and business plan.
