McGraw-Hill Professionalhas an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Customer Analysis and Research in New York City.

The purpose of the Manager of Customer Analysis and Research is to work across global hubs to help the business develop a stronger understanding of the competitive landscape, consumer preference, sales trends, and marketing impact to improve ROI for marketing activities, campaigns, and product development for both print and digital products. Guide the collection and organization of critical data including web analytics data, social buzz, sales figures, competitive analysis and info, relevant sell-through to set against business objectives and deliver actionable insights.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Build actionable insight around marketing impact and sales results using external and internal point of sale data, analytics info. Develop dashboards and tools to build common understanding of market share/market direction in key categories.
* Manage/support online consumer panels/advisory boards to better understand consumer preference and assist product development and marketing approach. Develop practices for consumer research appropriate to our business.
* Research competitive strategies and marketing tactics. Compare performance to key competition.
* Develop quantitative and qualitative measures and analyze impact of marketing performance against these metrics.
* Partner with other analytic functions in marketing, finance, and sales both in the US and abroad to develop well-rounded perspective on business.
* Collaborate across marketing categories to manage priorities and deliver greatest impact.
* Work with marketing teams outside the US to develop and support analysis
* Analyze Google Book Search results to uncover insights driven by usage

* Familiar with both syndicated and primary research data (including how to integrate and use in business decisions).
* Ability to summarize complex datasets for sales and marketing purposes.
* Fluent with web analytics and associated vendors
* Experience with marketing automation and stat applications (SAS, Oracle, SPSS)
* Familiar with online targeting solutions.
* Experience with measuring impact of social media marketing.
* Familiar with customer satisfaction metrics like Net Promoter Score
* Skilled at developing demographic and behavioral segments.
* Experience with correlation and regression analysis
* Ability to evaluate research methodologies to determine the limitations and applications of data
* Experience with questionnaire design and survey implementation and panel recruitment strategies
