The MD Practice Leader will be charged with leading and facilitating the analytical Practice's alignment with the Standard & Poor's strategy and executing on the C&G priority initiatives (e.g., ensuring analytical quality, ensuring current surveillance, strengthening dialogue with key stakeholders, participating in discussions and seminars, etc.), as determined by the Managing Director, Global Financial Institutions and Executive Managing Director, C&G, in alignment with all applicable policies and processes.

Additional accountabilities will include delivering results against expense targets for ratings execution, such as resource numbers and levels, related travel and entertainment, and analyst compensation (without considering the commercial implications of an analyst's analytical decisions). The MD will have no role in setting or approving revenue or fee targets or engaging in fee discussions, negotiations, or arrangements.

Key responsibilities:
* Oversee unit's overall credit ratings process by maintaining close vigilance on analytics, acting as senior analytical manager to analytical staff and managing resource allocation to optimize service delivery to the markets. Oversee new deal and surveillance functions
* Responsible for fostering continual improvement, setting/maintaining high standards of performance.
* Closely liaise with the Quality Function to ensure the quality of the group's ratings, and its compliance with all Company policies.
* Partner with, and integrate the activities of, a broad range of internal constituencies across Rating Services, North America, and global Ratings Services, to further enhance the delivery and value of the analytical product and service capabilities provided by Corporate & Government ratings in North America.
* Lead and direct the unit's focus on enhancing the value of its ratings, commentaries, research and opinions to investors, in alignment with the Global Ratings, and C&G strategy. Direct the continuous development of investor service outreach and quality
* Participate as primary analytical contact between the assigned area and issuers, assessing, answering and resolving client's analytical needs.
* Senior leader with extensive track record of managerial excellence, analytical mindset and process subject matter expertise.
* Able to demonstrate independence and objectivity.
* Possess strong management skill sets with focus on strategy implementation and execution
* Able to motivate and lead a team of managers
* Able to effectively represent the group in meetings with senior management, issuers, investors and regulators.
* Leadership skills and change management attitude - the capacity to constructive challenge and change views, processes and behavior to position the group for the future.
* Ability to effectively influence in a matrix organization.
* Change agent, capable of challenging the status quo and introducing improvements to working methods and practices.
* Graduate degree in Business, Finance, or related field required.
* Significant management experience inside or outside of rating agencies.
* Excellent public speaking and writing skills.
* Prior managerial experience.
