Global Tech Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Director - Planning & Innovation, based in either ourNYC orColumbus , OH office.

The Sr. Director of Planning & Innovation (ETSPI) is accountable for managing the ETSPI group by setting its direction and ensuring that, collectively, its seven constituent units help MHE CIO deliver the IT strategy and better leverage of IT for competitive advantage.

Essential Accountabilities:
* Set the group and unit level strategies of all units; establish detailed program plans (charters) for each unit; adjust / modify plan as business situation changes over time; communicate program plans to CIO and other stakeholders; obtain approval of the plan and implement the plan.
* Provide regular management oversight over functioning of each unit and ensure that the units are producing work products consistent with the mission and purpose of the group. Manage group work by evaluating unit performance against established Key Performance Indicators
* Develop IT strategy and plan (interim until the unit lead is identified and recruited)
* Build alliances and partnerships through shared strategy and active relationship nurturing. Collaborate with other segment-wide innovation efforts to reduce redundant innovation efforts across the segment.
* Routinely communicate group performance to the CIO and other stakeholders. Keeps senior management appraised about strategic directions of IT, risks that IT is facing and improvements needed to correct IT's course to ensure value delivery.
* The responsibilities of the position is to partner and influence all the business units across MHE businesses.
* Interface with Presidents of MHE BU and work with multiple business leadership in all MHE businesses
* Research and build new technology to support MHE BU initiatives
* Responsible for the Enterprise Architecture across the MHE segment

* Knowledge and experience of developing IT strategy for a large, complex organization and ability to communicate strategy to senior executives in business terms.
* Knowledge and experience of developing and running an Enterprise Architecture program for large, complex organizations.
* Five years of experience of managing information security and risk management techniques.
* Experience in nurturing relationship between IT and business.
* Knowledge and ability to perform advanced technology research, trend analysis and make recommendations for adoption of innovative new ideas.
* Proven record of providing continuous improvement methods to an IT organization.
* More than 15 years of experience in designing and developing IT based business and product solutions.
